About Us
The vibrant bar tucked in the corner of the dining hall glow in the dim lights and mirror reflections. Free standing hand painted pillars inspired by gompa pillars but highly stylized for restaurant use hover over dining tables that sit 120 people. The walls are filled with original high quality art and craft works and everything is for sale. It is envisioned as a gallery restaurant where the exhibits will keep changing to add freshness. A good luck dragon drenched in gold embossed on a large wall panel ensures success and enhances the cultural liveliness of the dining hall. The menu varies from typical Nepali cuisines to great international favorites from the Continent, China & America. The kitchen and dinning room staffs are well trained to produce and serve orders with skill, efficiency and above all a lot of TLC - Tender Loving Care - one of the most important ingredient of all at The Boudha Kitchen. Also on display for ones shopping delight, are several pieces of furniture that include a hand crafted pillar, a contemporary interpretation of a Nepali door and an interesting chandelier with 5 oil fed wick burning lamps (deo) inspired by floral Thangka designs. The stairwell has this chandelier displayed in front of a wonderful tiger carpet. Four shops of Pashmina products, Jewellery, Thangkas and Books are part of this gallery restaurant.
As one takes the circular walk around Boudha - a coordinated simple elevation that blends with the setting reads a signage of Boudha Kitchen. The unassuming small entrance within the shopping arcade at the ground level leads up a small staircase into a contrastingly spacious "open" space above. The result is a pastel but rich color scheme focusing on 3 shades of green, 2 shades of red and an olive yellow to bring them together.
Come and see it for yourself. This restaurant has a wonderful ambience for elegant dining and tastes to match. Major credit cards like VISA, Master are accepted. Managed under strict hygienic conditions by Kathmandu Kitchen Pvt. Ltd.
